Fun for the whole family

A tenpin bowler who represented the United Kingdom and competed all over the world when he was younger now operates his own bowling business in Wodonga.

Paul Delaney has taken over and renovated the former Twin Cities Tenpin Bowl site in Sanyo Dve.

3D Lanes Wodonga was open just five weeks last July before closing due to the COVID pandemic.

“We got through both lockdowns and we are still here and looking forward,” Mr Delaney said.

The business reopened in November last year and has been enjoying good numbers.

“We run a lot of tournaments through the week and the game attracts many families on the weekends and evenings,” Mr Delaney said.

The renovation included replacing the old bowling machines with new ones, adding automatic bumpers and cosmetic work such as painting.

“It’s been a lot busier than anticipated, people are looking for things to do and it’s great fun for the whole family,” Mr Delaney said.

“We hosted the Victorian Country Cup over the long weekend with teams coming from all over Victoria.”

Mr Delaney has plans to add more lanes over the next 12 to 24 months.

“It’s a work in progress, we have done a lot of cosmetic work like painting and updating our machines,” he said.

“It’s definitely got a new look and the feedback has been positive with all the changes.”

Night leagues run Monday to Thursday, while the bowling alley hosts the Special Olympics, an all abilities movement, on Sundays from 2pm.

The business is open every day from 10am to 10pm, phone (02) 6024 7022.
